Grosch Residence

RESIDENTIAL - SCULPTURE

GROSCH RESIDENCE

CHICAGO, IL

Tony and Susan Grosch’s condominium overlooks Millennium Park, which is seen from the the window in the room where I was invited to create a work. On my initial visit to their home, I was visually stunned by the spectacular view of the park with sculptures by Anish Kapoor, Jaume Plensa with Frank Gehry’s Pritzker Pavilion and Lake Michigan beyond! It was so exhilarating that I expeered to see fireworks!

As I became friends with the Grosch’s I soon realized that the concept of fireworks not only embodied the visual drama of this scene but it also represented the ebullient personalitics of both Tony and Susan, who became very dear friends.

Sadly Tony passed away having lived a very full life with Susan and their family.
