The leaded glass windows of the Hines Residence are located on a wall that wraps around a huge cedar tree that fills a courtyard. The prismatic and clear antique glass, which compose the windows, bring the color, form and texture of the tree into the window plane.
The composition is of flowing lines that merge, separate and carve away the grid of prismatic glass, which is a reference to the Roaring Fork River that closely borders the property. The gentle sound of the river murmurs throughout the house, another reminder of its natural surrounding.
