For their living room windows, the Hammonds requested work that would bring in natural light and also provide a sense of privacy as these windows opened onto the entry walkway. Leaded prismatic glass was used primarily to elevate the visual quality of the light as it is refracted by the prismatic glass which also distorts the exterior view, fracturing and reassembling it the forms. Some of the prismatic elements were shaped to follow the curves of the lead lines. The opalescent white glass was used to contrast with the clear prismatic glass and as compositional elements to balance the prismatic glass forms.
